Power Carved Sculpture Prototypes – Woodworking, Art, Sculpture

I spent about an hour carving these prototypes
for larger sculptures out of this pine that I had lying around. I just had a few scraps of it. I knew it would be soft and easy to carve. I was just using my rotary tool with some
carving bits. Someone contacted me recently about doing
some tall, narrow pieces. I was an opportunity I pretty much could not
overlook. These were influenced by artists like Jonathan
Whittaker, Pockets Full of Sawdust, and Nuge and Wood. I had the idea that I could carve these patterns
on the front of a large slab. Basically, just stand them on end. Smooth them out with sandpaper, of course. These are just prototypes. Make them look all nice and shiny. These turned out kind of neat, I think. I am trying to decide which ones I like best.

Actually, I think I like these two the best. Feel free to let me know which one you like
the best. Number one. Number two. Number three. Number four. I am pretty excited to have the opportunity
to do this. Keep watching. You might see the full-sized sculptures coming
soon from Cammie's Garage..
