“Pablo’s kitchen” end grain cutting board

I am not sure that I will be able to make this complex inlay It is very difficult to make such image But the size will be very big. This will help to make small parts of the image. Black walnut board 700x450x70 mm There will be four woods. First – padauk inlay. Then – yellow inlay of birch After oiling the birch will become flesh-colored Then – hard maple which will be more white than birch And finally black wenge inlay All layers overlap, so I will use straight and V-inlays I think I will make straight padauk and birch inlays and then V-inlays of maple and wenge Rose tattoos will be made of padauk Let's start The board should be fully dark, so I have to saw off walnut sapwood I made toolpaths and ready for milling Straight padauk inlay Straight birch inlay Maple V-inlay Wenge V-inlay I will have to remove the board from the table three times So it is very important to set the same X, Y zero point for all layers and position the board at the same place on the CNC table Even the clamp pressure matter There are some knots but they will be milled out I have to sand the board after first two inlays Note that straight inlays are deeper that V-inlays The last step is very important Wenge lines must pass exactly on the connections of different woods You could see that birch is more white than maple.

But after oiling the view will be the opposite I don't see any mistakes at this stage I think 15 tons is enough After two days. There is a lot of glue under inlay Usually I use band saw to remove the excess of inlay But wenge is very hard wood and the inlay itself is very big Mistake. The head must be on the top. The next step is sanding But even after two days there is a lot of wet glue So I will wait half a day It is difficult to make human faces in wood, but I am almost satisfied..
