If you’re interested in learning how to build your own furniture, or you’re simply an art enthusiast, you’ll want to check out the ND woodworking art exhibit at the South Bend Museum of Art. You’ll find an extensive selection of woodworking projects from talented artists like Dwight King and Truong Van Dao.

Truong Van Dao

Truong Van Dao is a famous woodworker from Vietnam who has taken his craft to the next level. Using only wood as his primary material, he has been able to build a variety of miniature replicas of popular luxury cars. He has even built an open top Lamborghini sports car.

The woodworker also has a fetish for building vehicles that can run at 25 kilometers per hour. These include a wooden tank based on the French EBR105 model, a replica gun and a 2.8m long replica. His latest creation is a working miniature Rolls-Royce boat tail. This 68-day project includes a functioning mini RR, a butterfly trunk and a steering wheel.

As with most things in life, there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution. To make sure his miniature vehicle is as good at navigating the local streets as it is at hitting the racetrack, Truong has added a few of his own inventions. For example, he installed an electric motor and a super capacitor to power the vehicle. He also designed the platform for the car and made side panels and the bonnet.

Truong has also carved an impressively accurate replica of a Sian Roadster. A working miniature homage to the famous supercar, the vehicle’s body consists of discarded trees. Its features include an electric drive, LED lights, a working dashboard and a steering wheel.

While the car may not be quite as cool as it looks, it does prove that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to buy the best toys for your kids. With some basic joinery tools, you can make a variety of toys that can be displayed in your house or given to your children for their birthdays. You may even find yourself pleasantly surprised with the result.

Truong’s woodworking art has been shared by the internet’s social media cognoscenti. Check out the video below to see what he has been up to lately. From a nifty-looking wooden Rolls-Royce boat tail to a miniature Lamborghini – albeit an emoji version – Truong has certainly done his research.

ND – Woodworking Art

Truong Van Dao, who’s better known by his YouTube name ND – Woodworking Art, makes cars with working suspension and steering. He builds them on a box-section steel chassis, which supports the wheels and power train.

Another one of his creations is a wooden machine gun that isn’t very accurate. But it’s still a good looking piece of art. And the video he made about it gives a nice little insight into how he built it.

One of the biggest projects that Truong has done is a replica of a $28 million limited edition Rolls-Royce Boat Tail. He’s also been making wooden replicas of various items, like a Lamborghini, a Ford F-150, a Porsche, a Ford Mustang, and more. His videos show how he used simple materials to create a beautiful work of art. Using just hand tools, he worked the wood to shape curves and to engrave an image of a badass skull on the blade.

ND – Woodworking Art recently posted a video of his latest project. It’s a wooden version of the Ferrari 250 GTO, which took 70 days to build. Although it doesn’t have a V12 engine, it does have electric powertrain, working steering and suspension, and a cockpit canopy that opens electrically. You can watch the video here.

The video also shows how Truong’s company uses waste wood to make some of their projects. If you’re interested in seeing his other creations, check out his website. While he specializes in large projects, he has a hobby of building miniature wood vehicles for his son.
