Hatchet Multitool Restoration [Axe, Hammer, Prybar, Nail Puller]

An old hatchet Multitool First of all I remove the pins I knock them out with a pin punch Oh, bye turtle…. Vinegar So far no reaction is visible Turtle also still sees no change 24,375 hours later Yes, now you can see a significant improvement! I remove the remaining rust with the wire brush I finish the surface with files and sandpaper Sorry turtle… I will fill this gap with repair putty I crush the wood shavings and add it to the putty Hardener While that dries, I continue to work the axe This does not fit yet… … but now I drill the holes for the new pins to 5 mm diameter. I still apply linseed oil varnish on the wooden handles, then they are ready prepared I make the new pins from brass I bluing the hatchet this time with bluing-salt For this you need water… … and bluing-salt Wow, the chemical reaction is enormous! But I need an even higher temperature After a few minutes After even more minutes Now you still have to boil the axe in water I prepare the surfaces, with sandpaper, for polishing And now it is finally time again: POLISH so that the "forgotten shine" appears again.

I start with the assembly To make the two wooden handles hold, I hit the end of the pin Finished!.
