Hammer K3 Update – Problems with Felder SOLVED?

hi andrea here this is the long-awaited update on a k3 hammer saw from felder group the first review was published on july 2020 and now it's the april of 2021. if you haven't please go watch the first video so you will better understand the issues we had so as you may know from the first video we had issues with shipping of the machine with the vibrations on the machine and with arriving knife coming loose on the machine shortly after i published my video i got an email from a gentleman from slovenia that actually got the same saw as i did the hammer k3 winner and his problem was the same with the driving knife coming loose in that process he lost a piece of finger later on i got also emails from other people that were having some of the issues on the saw and the the people who also ordered the saw and were afraid that the result will come damaged as well so i wanted to make this video to uh for you to see what felder did and how the events uh unfolded uh by the time that we got this saw i will use a little bit of papers because it's a lot of things to mention in the video but we'll go through this quite quickly so on july 7th uh after the these damages occurred on my saw i got a call from my uh retailer totos from slovenia and he said that it was our responsibility of signing the shipping papers okay when the machines were damaged and that we will have if we wanted to change the pieces that were damaged we'll have to cover the cost for the for that which was which was okay it was disappointing but it was really our own fault that we signed those paper even though we saw on the track uh clearly that the the machines were leaning on each other so that was not okay but we were very excited as i stated in the first video and we just wanted to have the machines finally after some six months of waiting due the due to the coronavirus and other things that were happening but also when tortoise representative called me uh he said that he will reduce the cost of the replacement parts if we wanted to get them for the shipping cost we paid and this is where i asked myself why the shipping company would return the money if the papers were signed okay for the delivery i say that i refused to pay those components which meant that we would stay with the damaged parts on the machine and we would use the machine as it is however the next day on july 8th in the morning i got the call from tortoise again and they stated that they talked to felder and that they will take the responsibility and change the damage parts at their own cost i was very surprised by that and it was kind of strange that the day before they told me ah you will have to cover the costs if you want to change the parts and today the new story i got the answer very quickly they just saw my video review on the k3 the original one and of course they changed the tune but now i asked about the shipping and why he has the money back from them he told me that he won't charge them the damages if they could drop the shipping charges this is where i started adopting what he was saying so i called directly to the people who were contracted for the shipping upon talking to them i understood that they had employed the third person to deliver the machines so basically the totals employed the shipping company and then the shipping company employed another person that will deliver the machines he also said the totes never paid them the shipping so here we don't know me totals didn't even pay for the service but that but that time and because of the circumstances they refused to pay them and i asked myself why is this happening since i signed the paper is okay and the shipping company should be paid eventually totals paid the shipping fully without any discounts or anything and this was resolved okay so now for the vibrations we saw and why this happened so basically the technician came on july 10 which was very very soon after i reported the problems that we had and he tried to replace the motor with new one since they thought the problem was with it he took the old one off the belt and connected it directly to the current and surprised it ran smooth so i immediately started that there is no problem with the motor because it was running without any problems maybe it's the electrical box so he started to do that he checked the uh electrical box he changed the v-belt on the machine he tightened some screws around he checked the arbor that it wasn't uh having a play with the with the gauge he had a thread lock to the riding knife which would which they should have added from the beginning but okay uh he changed all the electrical components check the vibrations if they were caused by the floor maybe because we have a wooden floating floor so maybe that was the issue but it wasn't the issues we even um we even lift off the the machine from the floor to see if the vibrations were caused by the floor we even connected the machine to the other outlet so maybe the outlet is not the problem for the electricity but at the end after six hours of working on that machine he concluded that the sauce should be returned to the felder factory to be examined and repaired i had written down in the papers i signed for that service he he made that i wanted a new saw so on july 14th that was immediately four days after they came with the truck from totals directly they packed the machine one guy came here he was incredible he did all by himself and he took the machine back to uh totos and they send it to austria it arrived in austria two days later so now we have to wait for the felder to answer us so i will quote this because they sent me the answer on august 6th until there is standards and specifications it was concluded that the problem was with some electronical components so then i asked myself how is that if the motor itself was running smooth on the electrical components but once it was connected to the saw to the arbor then it started to produce vibrations i'm not electrical engineer but maybe i'm missing something so in the meantime we called the felder's representative and he told us that he's concerned with what i said in my hammer k3 winner video because that damages the felder's reputation before that if i remember well i couldn't find any bad review on that saw on any of the hammer machines on the internet i was looking everywhere and i couldn't find it and it was like it was quite shocking to me because uh these machines we bought because we saw other people on youtube using them and they were quite happy with the performance of the machine so this was the main reason we went with the felder's machine actually hammer line of the machines well um after thinking about it we demanded a new thought to be delivered to us and the answer from the felder was that we will have to wait a long time because of the coronavirus problems and the company was partly shut down and it was it was a waiting game and then we thought uh maybe it's better that we upgrade the saw why we would get the same saw again i mean the new one and run the same maybe the same problems with the saw so we asked them if it's possible to upgrade the saw for a better one they said that that's no problem that they will take the our cell back the k3 and that they will uh reduce the cost from a new one so we got that and after some males back and forth this machine came out to be about 2 500 euros of the difference from the k3 winner so which is a lot because the original costed 4 000 to the month and you will come to the price of this one but because of our trouble and what we've been through they agreed that we would pay only thousand euros of difference and that we will pay it once the saw comes here and we try it for a month or every time we need that was absolutely incredible so now it seems like they are sending us the saw that the new one the better one the better series and that we we will pay once we are satisfied so that was great we were really excited about that and we said yes okay the only drawback was that we would have to wait uh to the end of january 2021 to get a new song so that's more than a year from the first time we ordered the k3 winner but i said okay we passed through all of the hell and we will wait for this as well it's no problem we have the also the dewalt 745 then we will use that so in the meantime and then what happened on january 19th we got the news that the k700 saw will be arriving by the following week and we said okay that's great because they said uh when when we ordered they saw that it will be the by the end of january that's this was great news uh okay now you see the the title of the video why this can be easy and you know what's gonna happen next on january 27 uh of course there was no k 700 inside so i asked where it is many times in that time and the representatives said that they had some delays with covet and that that that shouldn't be an excuse well he really tried to make us satisfied so i said okay what what can i do i cannot do anything so let's let's wait on february 10th the representative called me and he said that they had some problems with the saw and i said oh no here we go again and i was i was like both me and my brother were very like i don't know if disappointed angry i don't i cannot sum up the emotions we had when this news came uh luckily it was only the cross-cut fence that was out of tolerations and that they had to send a new one so uh on february 17th so that's two days later after they told us that uh the saw the fence actually arrived to my uh home and uh the total technician came on february 18th and they installed finally after eight months of waiting it was finally installed in the shop and we could use it it was delivered by toto's technician bogdan and he was very professional indeed he installed the machine without any hiccups and he explained us how to use it which parts are what because it's a upgraded version from the k3 and some components work different he set up the sauce so everything is on 90 degrees and everything ran perfect we were we were excited and very happy about that but we also had this in our minds that what will happen after he leaves and we use the software some time i will leave that for a video review uh for the next video we also have to be uh be honest and admit that the k3 video that i made from the beginning really changed up uh the the tune from both retailer totos and from the felder company and the representative they really treated us differently from that video and i don't i don't know what would happen if we didn't have the influence of our youtube channels i just hope that everybody else who buys the machine from their factory would be treated the same they had the video or they didn't have the video so we used the saw firms for some time like i said two months and the the felder representative called us and he told us if we are happy with it if there is anything missing from the machine and i said no everything is great we are happy so far and we would like to pay you the difference and then he said because you were waiting so long again and you're again extended from what we said we will give you another discount two of not 2 200 euros so you will pay 800 and we will also send you some uh saw blades and some other things that you wanted so we asked for the three uh blades from the felder that are the rig blade combination blade and the crosscut blade and we also asked for the two gauges on the saw so it makes it a little bit more uh versatile to use and that was great they sent us it arrived like immediately after one day i think from austria i really wanted to keep this video transparent and fully honest so you know uh what was happening and what we were passing through and what was the communication between uh between us and felder and totos finally of course everybody will have their own story and how they saw this from their point of view but this was our point of view and i wanted to let you know that finally my conclusion to to what was happening is that i personally think uh and my brother thinks this too that there were some problems happening at the felder company uh we ordered the saw and then the coronavirus hit also that was probably also a big part of the deal what happened we think the problem is with the hammer lines of the machines because uh this saw was practically practically except for a defense that was again but they changed that they they noticed that and they they changed it immediately it was everything was working fantastically from the get-go so let's hope this continues the issue wasn't only with the with the with the saw that we got from hammer but also with our joiner and with our band saw so the the bandsaw had the problem that the table had a huge dip in the cast iron and uh luckily the the technician who came here he was able with some shims to to straightening up to be flatter again it's not completely flat but it's still within the tolerance so that that it's okay on a jointer table however i found out after publishing my review that was fantastic and spectacular because i used the machine for only one month and that's the air of course and i found out that the tables were out of black and that they need to be replaced so i contacted felder and they will be replacing the tables of the hammer k3 on the hammer a341 machine uh the planer on that machine so the thicknesser that thicknesses the tables where it's absolutely fantastic and it's within the 0.5 millimeter on 410 millimeter width which is phenomenal for the machine and hasn't have any snipe i'm very happy with that joinery tables are completely out of block so we see we'll see what happens and i will probably make a video review on that as well and at last uh i'm sorry that this video took so long talking i don't like talking so much in the videos this is really hard for me i even have to have the script this time and i hope you got some information and that you will decide if the machines from felder are for you our own opinion is that they still after seeing this saw in action they still think that they make produce absolutely incredible machines they're they're of the high quality but also they have many faults and many bad things happening with the hammer machines and and in the beginning how they treated that at least the retailer and when we got directly with the felder it was completely another story and we could we could come to up to an agreement that was good for both of us and of course the question arises will i buy again the felder machine from the company perhaps maybe probably i'm i'm not sure uh the the machines are really like these machines this machine from felder and the vacuum behind they're really fantastic the hammer line on the other hand didn't show up great i think i would buy the machines from felder again but i would be extremely careful when i'm buying and that would be implied to any company i actually buy from and i would make sure i buy at least the felder series from 700 and above only if they approve different with the hammer machines then i would probably uh again advise somebody to buy the hammer machine for now i i cannot say honestly i cannot say i advise for you to buy the hammer machine if you can buy the filter probably you will be very very satisfied because vr for now the vacuum cleaner that is from felder actually work fantastically for the long time and now you will know also what to do if you decide to go for any company and any machines in the future so it doesn't matter if it's feather or not just make sure that everything is equipped with machine and if you have any problems just contact the directly to the company don't go through the retailer because i don't think it's a good idea i had some problems with other machines already and it was
