Hello, in this video i will show you how i made this wood mallet to me is the easiest way to make a mallet but not the strongest one for this mallet i use a piece of oak and eucalyptus they are both hard wood i only use 2 different woods so so you can have this look on the mallet let's start with the build of this I'm john and this is my workshop i started by cutting the handle form the eucalyptus then i cut the oak in 2 equal pieces and the center part i cut into 2 other pieces and i made a 1º cut so the cable can expand after that i glued the eucalyptus to the oak leaving the space for the handle and then the other part of the oak on top of it on the handle i drill 2 holes and open two slots to insert this piece of wood here so it expand the cable and then i glued the cable on the mallet expanding the handle, like this and let it dry out over night after the mallet is all glued i cut it the head on my miter but making a 1º angle after that it was just sanding and rounding up the corners on the top of the head of the mallet i rounded it up with my belt sander just a bit i applied one coat of varnish and let it dry out i hope you enjoy this video don't forget to subscribe to my channel and hit the like buton
